have been making art together for over 25 years. We met and built our
first studio in Bologna, Italy, and in 1985 moved it all to Boulder,
Colorado. Our medium is terracotta clay and colored pigments from Italy
with a clear glaze over all. The hand-thrown forms are simple, but enlivened
by the decoration. Raffaele's self-taught style of decorating is patient,
figurative, and realistic. Thea's style is fast, improvised, and flowing
with the transparency of watercolors. Our family shares the appreciation
of the slow life, with love a of cooking and eating at a beautiful table
set with individual pieces of pottery enhancing the food. People who
