I discovered metalsmithing when I moved to Austin Texas six years ago. Jewelry design afforded me the opportunity to work on a small scale, and creating wearable art personalized the artistic process for me. I am inspired by the shapes and lines I find in the art of Jean Arp, Gerhard Richter, Egon Schiele, Johannes Schreiter, Frank Gehry and Ludwig Schaffrath.
Growing up in Germany, England, Canada, and the United States exposed me to a rich variety of cultures, art, and architecture. As the perpetual new kid in class, I let go of trying to fit in and instead developed my own style. My jewelry reflects that same spirit of individuality.
